I'm having feeding issues with the .308 Titan. It seems like it is the 10 round mag because the ass end of the cartridge isn't up high enough to be caught by the bolt. When you get down to the last 3 or4 rounds, it works okay but when empty the follower isn't up enough to even put pressure on the bolt catch. Any ideas?

Maybe you just have a defective magazine. Do all the rest do the same thing? If so, I'd send them back to Fulton.

Maybe look into an alternative magazine from another brand of AR10....?

As a last ditch effort, you could cut a block of wood down and insert it into the bottom of your magazine. You'll lose a couple of rounds worth of capacity, but it'll make tension greater. Personally, I don't recommend stretching the spring. Those things can be finnicky and you may end up really distorting it into not working at all.

I use Armalite magazines...unfortunately, Armalite AR10's only use Armalite mags (to my knowledge). They are expensive. Mine will also use modified M14 magazines, but they cause problems, or at least mine caused problems and I've read other reviews from people who said the same.

I'd say google around and see what else yours will use.

Hey IP, looked into your problem. Here is what I found, "The Titan lower receiver accepts DPMS or SR-25 magazine"

Hey Recoil, IP, I was reading an article in the new GUNS & AMMO Book of the AR-15 2009, they mentioned that Magpul is making a 20 round mag for the AR-10s, not sure what ones it is going to fit, hopefully all of them. Went to their web site, didn't see it yet, but I will be looking into that, for sure .

Thanks for the heads up. Do me a favor, buy one, try it out on your AR10 and let me know if it works. If it does, I'll load up on them because anything has got to be better and cheaper than the Armalite mags or the modified M14 magazines.

Well I'll try on that, have no idea when they are going to release them, might give them a call,
In the mean time, if you have an extra $150.00 Armalite has a 5 mag deal going on right now, I know what you mean, I bought my extra 20s at full price. Anyway check it out if you need a couple.
Oh that reminds me, know anyone with a Gen II 10 rounder they would sell, I need an extra.

I'm set up nicely on AR10 mags, I don't need more, but am keen on the idea of buying some of those PMAGS when they come out. If they work, as I'm sure they will, I'll sell my existing Armalite magazines to AR10 owners who don't know the MAGPULS are out yet....damn, that makes me an asshat.

Ethron, the DPMS mags and the Foulton Armory mags are the same. There both made by DPMS. I haven't even had time to try out the other mags 2 mags that I have yet. I'm getting there.

IP, not sure but the ones from Fulton are 20s and being you live in Comi fornia (chuckle) and only can have 10s unless you have the DNA pernit and Gods approval to own a High Cap, I was looking for some new tens for you. So I wll keep looking for you my friends, I like looking for things for people, it is my way of helping out my bretheren, and besides I'm good at it.

Just got word back from MagPul. Recoil my friend we are fkd.

Thank you for your inquiry.The PMAG 20LR for DPMS/SR25 style of 7.62x51 rifles is currently in development with a retail of $19.95.However, it will not fit the Armalite AR10 and the ETA is unknown at this time.

That sucks for us. I'll let you know IP when they come out...............

We're always looking for ways to improve upon existing products and explore the boundaries of new ideas but are not releasing any information on new products that may or may not be in the works…

Magpul's only the best magazine on the planet right now...I don't mind waiting on them! In the meantime, I'll use my Armalite Generation II magazines. Keep me posted if you get the scoop on any kind of press release from Magpul regarding mags which will fit our sticks.

Have u tried opening up the feed lips on your mags? Had the same trouble w/the DPMS Sportical 7.62 and that cured the problem. Work slow and take small bites.

Well it is a SHIT news flash......I have been spinning on the magpul issue with the new mags....so I got on the keyboard and sent ArmaLite a little question..

Got the answer back, and dam Magpul.....it went as follows..

Hey Tim, On our forum....AR10T we have a member going by UncleArmaLite....says they are your communications director, any way I asked about MagPul's P-mags, being they have made them for the DPMS, KAC SR-25 and such, also LaRue Tacticals OSR and OBR and the Remington R-25, for the most part any gun that will take a DPMS or KAC
.308 mag... I am curious if ArmaLite is going to work with Magpul and make them for the AR-10s...there are a lot of people out there that would like that option..any way they suggested contacting you for some info on the subject....any words of insperation.....?

The Response.........

I talked to Justin at Mag-Pul and he states that it wouldn’t be profitable to make mags for the AR-10 as this would only fit the AR-10 and not cross over to other manufacturers’ firearms. Since the .308 isn’t a mil-spec rifle, all manufacturers have different dimensions and tolerances. Some have the same dimensions for mags and some don’t. If this happens, I was told by Mag-Pul that we would be the first to know.

Ah, but now the .308 is a milspec rifle. Most of the services have adopted them into their medium range sniper rifle program. Maybe that will get someone on the ball.

I got some info from a gunsmith I know, he has a couple of DPMS and one of the P-mags and checked them against the ArmaLite mags.....NO JOY!!

He said the DPMS mags are smaller in size and the way the ammo is stacked in them, there is no possible way to make them work with out making it REAL UGLY.

....This really is getting under my skin.....like a festering sliver..or a bad case of hemorrhoids...I am half temped to see about making some kind of mold, and not the fungus type, and see if I could make my own..or make an adapter but from what the smith told me, it would have to be a sleeve and the tolerance is very small...so.

Oh I would love one of those, but the cost is unreal, KAC has as big an ego as ArmaLite if not bigger......the SR-15 itself is over 2k

The SR-25's are $5-6k. Make your own mold and sell the mags.

I think KA gets a premium for their 7.62 because it's a military thing. Kinda like Colt and Armalite I guess?

Well I have to say they are impressive, but two things, one....when you call a company and they tell you to talk to a dealer, that is not much for customer service....Just me I guess. Two, some of the things that I have been hearing about the SR-25, makes me wonder about the TRUE quality, and before you say it....It is just my opinion...OK...NHD (no harm done).....But hey ArmaLite has it's pit-falls too...at some point I think every gun manufacturer has issues at some point.....If I win the fraken lotto, I would buy one just to see....for my self...
