I'm putting the new barrel in my rifle with a specter length rail. My problem is i'm putting the 'old' barrel (with permanently attached muzzel device) & bcg into a 'KISS' build. The 'old' barrel has no delta ring assembly or handguard cap. Is there a method of removing a 'permanently attached muzzel device' And has anyone ever done it?

I did, it sucks. they are usually pined on and welded over. Some are even welded around the threads as well. Gotta find and drill out the pins.

ALSO, know that after this is done it will look like crap. Just send it in and have it cut down and re-threaded. Just my 2 cents.

My Bushy Varminter originally came with a 'Pinned-On' AK Brake of the Clinton/Reno Era.....

Being it was a 24 inch barrel and it served 'No' purpose and looked dumb....So I sent it back to Bushmaster and they removed it, Welded up the pin hole and did a good job hiding it after lapping the weld and refinishing the area - Almost unnoticeable on the bottom towards end of barrel.

I'm happy with it - Let a pro do it.

Thanks for the input, After further review I think I'll 'let a pro do it'.

Max, what did it cost you to have done? mine is a 16' krieger and I'd like it to stay 16' if possible as opposed to 14.5 with a muzzle device to get 16'
