I added a new carry piece to my collection. I always wanted a
CZ and decided on the P-01 model 9mm. It is a compact version of the Model 75 that went thru
NATO trials and was certified for military use. My gun has a NSN engraved on the frame. It only holds 10rd due to NYS mag restrictions but it has nice rubber grips and an excellent feel. It has no external safety which would turn some people off but it has a half-cock safety like the 1911's. I load one in the chamber and carefully lower the hammer all the way down and have had no issues while carrying. During it's
NATO testing, they put 15K rounds through one and only had 3 malfunctions. I have put several hundred rounds thru mine so far with zero malfunctions. Recoil is quite manageble and it's feeds great with the 2 mags that came with it. With Wolf ammo, it has tended to shoot a bit low and to the left at 25yds. I will give the barrel a little more time to break in to see what I end up with. On the whole, another excellent firearm from
CZ to go with my Model 550 Safari Magnum.
