Don't know if any of you have one of these. I bought this at a gun show years ago for $75. Had it out today for some fun. The 7.62x25 round really comes sailing out of that barrel and it's somewhat cheap to shoot at about 10 cents a round or less when you buy the mil surplus.

I could be mistaken, but I thought I saw some for sale in Shotgun News recently, but it may have been a different model. I know for sure they had Polish and Bulgarian Makarovs for $200-250. Curious were the CZ-52s available in 9x18 Makarov too?

Nope....The CZ-52 is a "Czech" Pistol totally designed for their Military, The Com Block Era Pistols Tokarev TT-33 and varants also use the same 7.62x25 round - But totally different pistols when it comes to the design and type action used..........Both Pistols in 7.62x25 can use regular 9mm ammunition by using a conversion barrel - You just swap out the barrel.....Original mag works also.

The 9x18 Makarov is made in a variety of small Eastern military pistols and falls between the .380 and 9mm size/power wise......Most pistols I've seen in the 9x18 makarov can be converted to .380 by swapping out the barrel, Or already comes in one or the other cartridge.

The Tokarev was the most prevalent eastern bloc pistol produced by the former satellite countries, basically their idea of a 1911 type pistol in 7.62x25, bullet weights vary around 85-90gr with surplus ammo(corrosive) and some smoking hot loads around 1600-1700FPS, with the average FPS being around 1450 still puts it in the 357 magnum's velocity range, they also made steel core bullets that can pierce body armor at close range. Nasty little round.
