Yup, Oct 83. Don't worry about being young GR, I can remember having the Vietnam Vets around when I first got in and hear them talk about "back in the day" Only thing is some of their stories were very interesting, but you are probably building some of the same type of stories. In 10 or 20 years you'll be saying "back in the day when I was in Iraq..." and you'll have some young punk kid of troop haning on every word.
You can also do a lot through the military for schooling. There are a lot of classes you can do. I knew a Captain back in '90 who had spent 15 years in without a break, starting off as a private. He got his college while active duty. Granted where you are at, will make it much more difficult to do that, but work at it and if you can ever get to the school house for a while you might be able to make some serious work on that. But do get some college, even if you don't ever use your degree or go officer, it's still very good to have.
