With the help of my preceptor, Fox, I was finally able to get my new business off the ground. Eleven Bravo Custom Firearm Finishing is based out of California at the moment.

My first 'professional' piece was my wife's 22 rifle.

I am currently working on a 'team spirit' piece for one of my youth trap shooter. It should be done today and hopefully the sun will hold out long enough to get a good picture.

Actually, more than half of my work is girls. I take my wife's rifle to the trap shoots because of all of the wives hanging out... I'm ordering more and more pinks these days from Duracoat.

This is going to be my primary business. My multi-color jobs are a month out and I can knock out a single color job in a few days. Mostly I'm having a hard time keeping up with the color stock.

This business is kicking ass for me right now and I'm excited. I only wish that I had started it a year or so ago when it started becoming popular.

I'm finishing up this 'team' over and under for one of the kids on the trap league. He wanted it in our local school colors. I'm hoping that the the sun will hold out tomorrow for pics.

There isn't any paint where the action breaks open the safety does about 99% of its rubbing underneath the receiver where the pin holds it in place. There isn't any paint there. I also masked off any of the other moving parts so that there will be minimal rubbing and wear. I also used a special UV hardener that they offer, it is supposed to keep the colors form fading longer in the sun.

Remember, Duracoat was designed to be used on firearms from the get go. They even have a paint option now where parts can be self lubricating. They call it SL and it is recommend to use it on moving parts. For instance, I am painting a bolt for an AR and I'm using the SL paint. I'm hoping to have that one up and in pictures for you guys soon.

I've had the bolt of my 9mm AR go somewhere around 1000 cycles so far, duracoat on the bolt face is pretty well gone, starting to wear through on the lower grooves, but the exposed face still has its original clearcoat. I suspect it will take around 2500-3000 rounds before it makes it to metal on the exposed face of an AR-15 (when done properly and with generous clear coat).

The shottie was a hit at the trap shoot today. I forgot to take my camera with me to get a picture of it in action but I will next week. Damn, I've got even more orders today and now I'm back logged even farther. This is awesome! I'm starting a Siaga tomorrow along with one of my own ARs. I'm hoping to run the 2 concurrently to see if I can pull it off in my small work space.

hey IP i like that rifle, although i must say it looks like something that could be purchased at ted nugents gun shop. sorry had to say it. nothing but the best of luck with the business, i wish i could get DURACOAT out here to hawaii, but they won't ship it here.
