Very slick. In regards to banding the background - if you want to do that, I'd recommend banding the foreground to match. AKA freehand slightly lighter/darker areas of each successive layer in the same areas, so they all blend lighter/darker together but the camouflage itself has very even contrast between the lines. (upmix with white or downmix with black to get even differences in contrast)
Also, remember to keep all your lines parallel and perpendicular, usually to the horizon if the weapon was being pointed toward the horizon. That can be a ***** to do on grips though when you start curving over the front. Generally, I get more forgiving with position on the front and back of the grip (where your fingers and the webbing of your thumb would be) as those are never really inspected well or compared to the gun as a whole. In turn, I try to maintain vertical/horizontal position on the rest of the grip - what is visible from the sides of the gun - irrespective of the grip angle - favor the horizon, or barrel angle rather.
But - that's just a few small pointers on my end. It looks really good and I like the concept. And your digital for the most part does seem to be on the same plane so I'm being nit-picky

and its not all that necessary.
