I'm looking to get into the C3realm of weapons and I have my eyes on an M4 forgery or whatever name you fancy. My goal is to purchase an AR15 and hopefully in due time, add a RDIAS.

Priced a transferablefull auto Colt M4 at autoweapons.com....$​29,970.

This brings me to my question, what make/model/year of AR15's will accept an RDIAS? I talked with one dealer at the recentHouston gun show, and he mentioned that I needed to find one with a lower that has a low cut shelf on it.

Are there any current production guns built like this that are easily identifiable? Colt? Bushmaster? Rock River?

Bushy, DPMS, Rock River, Spikes, Cav Arms, Stag I know will all work with a RDIAS. I have two colts they will both work also but Colt does some really stupid shit when it comes to trying to keep people from F/A.

I have heard the low shelf rumor for years and personally have never seen a reciever that would not accept a RDIAS except Colt. Colt for many years has used sear blocks which you can remove if needed. I am sure that there are some recievers that have a high shelf I personally just have never seen one. All I have ever seen to prohibit the use of a RDIAS is Colt and their bullshit sear blocks.

My first host was a bushmaster I now have a spikes because as foxtrot said it has the correct markings. I originally called bushy and asked if they would make me a title 1 lowerand mark it like an m16 reciever and they would not do it.

If I happen to find a picture of a high shelf, I'll try to post it. I did see one high shelf at the gun show, it was on a brand new Colt LE6920. Not sure if the production year has something to do with it, but if I go with a Colt, I'll probably find an older model.

gunbroke​r also has a class 3 section. go to firearms and at the top youll see several sub-categories. one of these will be machineguns or something like that if you are registered you can search the completed auctions and see what they have sold for recently if any have sold

Im still not sure completely of the legality, but what about the Lightning link conversion? Is that the same as one of those other cheesy "full auto" legal conversions since there is no real weapon modification?
