I called Springfield Armory to check the status of my baby, and to my surprise it is in the mail on the way to my house, no FFL BS which is cool.

Anyway I asked the lady what was done to it, lets see if I remember it all.

-polished the feed ramp

-replaced extractor

-replaced the slide (wow, wasn't expecting that)

-reamed/polished the chamber.

She said it has been test fired, and it has a clean bill of health...I'll keep my own council on that, but I can't wait to give her the business.(the gun, not the lady)

Thanks to everyone who commented on my previous post, it would seem that Springfield took your advice and did 'all the above' to it, probably would've saved some man-hours by just giving me a new one. My next post will either be joyful or enraged, stay tuned...

But a Double WoW !!!! on Replacing the slide ?!?!

It's another good reason to go with Springfield's Lifetime Warranty........But they better tighten up their quality control !!!!

Well now that I have the work sheet in front of me I have a correction:

They 'refinished' the slide, they did not replace it, but all the other repairs are correct. I took it out in the back yard and put a couple of hundred rounds through it with no malfunctions whatsoever. My only complaint is my accuracy which has never been good on a pistol, but that's just a matter of practice.

I noticed that the shell holder for reloading the .45acp is the same as the .30-06, all I have to do is fork over $45 for the dies, and I can save a few bucks on ammo.
