MY SKS!! This is how it was, it's now back to stock and is fully california compliant, top loader, 10 rounder.

When I had this firearm this way, I had no clue it was illegal in california, I jumped on cabelas, found this kit and said holy bleeep thats awesome, ordered it, next week it was at my door, it wasnt until i went to the range everyone freaked out LOL! So, i spent a few weekends down in Arizona and sold it to one of my dad's buddies. ( the TAPCO kit that is ).

I've had a few problems with this gun..

2nd to last round stove pipes often ( Found out its the WOLF ammo i'm shooting, inless one of you know something else? )

My brand new firing pin I purchased was ripping a circular hole in the primers, causing it to not fire because the circular copper piece is stuck in the bolt, infront of the firing pin. ( some filing work fixed this, dulled the end of firing pin)

Also while I was having this primer problem, it would slam the bolt shut, with a live round in the chamber, and you would need to be godzilla to pull the bolt back to eject the live round, and EVERY single time i did this, the bullet would eject right into my knuckle. OUCH!

Lastly! I've yet to find a yugo front sight adjustment tool, I'm looking for the block so I can adjust both left and right, up and down. A friend at the shooting range has one, so that's how I sighted it in, but i'd like to own one my self, links would be great!

Also by the looks of the inside of my barrel, it looks like a good 25,000 rounds have been shot out of this puppy, is there anyway to get a barrel rerifled? Or relined? I don't know if thats possible, just a thought.

Other than that, I truly love this gun, so much fun!

It could be a Russian, Or a YUGO with the grenade adapter removed - Check the markings on receiver, The blade style bayonet gives me that clue.....Hard extraction as you've described can definitely be a dirty chamber or a build up of lacquer - I've even seen Ammo with a build up of this lacquer at the bottom of the cases like it congealed or something.....Give the rifle a though cleaning, And beware that these rifles with free floating firing pins are prone to slam fires - Especially if you've been "adjusting " it.

I bought this gun legal in california, so maybe they took it off, when I ordered my tapco kit along time ago, I ordered a muzzle break just like that, but it needed to be welded on, i couldnt just thread it
