I'm interested in one of these High Noon Holsters but I haven't heard anything about them. They are a little pricey and I would like to know if they are worth the money. They seem to be well made from what i can see on their website but looks can be deceiving. I'm looking for a holster for my M&P 9c

Jinxed... I have no first had experience with Highnoon holsters, but I have read very positive reviews in the past on a couple of their products. As far as their prices, go, $90 for a cow hide pancake holster with sweat shield is not too bad when compaired to some "top name" makers, such as Galco, DeSantis, El Paso saddlery, etc. And $120 for a lined version is about what I would expect, considering a lined holster uses twice as much leather and takes considerably more time to build. I build a similar pancake style holster with sweat shield (unlined) and sell it for just over half that price, plus shipping... but I don't have as much overhead to cover or the name recognition that Highnood does.... I don't build mine with the tension adjustment screw set up like that, mostly because I have never had much need for one (my holsters are usually tight when new and break in shortly to provide a decent amount of tention without the need for one).

I must of bought about 5 different 'cheap' holsters ($20-$40) that I casually would wear and then get frustrated with and stop using (would print to easy or not hold tight enough to jog/run). The last one I picked up was a Milt Sparks - in particular their VM-2 model. On suggestion from a friend, I took the more expensive version so dropped $145 (horse hide with shark hide trim).

I'm getting close to owning it a year now (used it every day since it came in the mail) and can say it is the best thing I've ever bought gun wise. It conceals my Colt Defender .45 even with just a t-shirt in the hot New Orleans summer. All previous holsters I had to stop during the summer and carry in the front pocket, which leaves the gun clearly printing and is hard to draw quickly (not to mention the cloth fibers getting in the barrel, etc.). I carry about 5 o'clock so it is just over my wallet. I figure that is the best place as I can simulate retrieving my wallet and return with a surprise should the occasion arise.

Long story short, buy some quality leather (which will run you $100+) from a reputable company and you will thank yourself later. New leather will be stiff the first week, sort of like a new pair of boots, but will break in quickly and become much more comfortable than composites or one size fits all types.

Hey, TAC's prices are much better than High Noon and you can bet that your holster will be made just for you. I'm not biased, I'm just trying to pimp Tac's work. His stuff is great. I've already had my friends order stuff from him after seeing the holster he made for my Glock.

Ooohh Nice.Is this the Milt Sparks? Is it easily concealable with no bulge? I want as slim as possible.I like their prices better than High Noon.HNH wants to charge alot more just for getting black MS doesn't charge extra.I've also looked at some Kydex because of their slim fit but I don't know how comfortable it will be.I've got to make up my mind soon cause it may be my B-Day present.

This is what I currently carry my G23 in but i'm looking for something a little smaller for my smaller frame 9c.

The holster that my Glock 17 is in was made by Tac. I couldn't have found a better deal. Shoot him a PM and talk to him. You won't be sorry with on of his holsters.

Jinx - those pics are the Milt Sparks VM-2 custom fit for the Colt Defender (they'll ask make, model, barrel length, belt width, etc.). As long as I don't wear a white t-shirt (which becomes see through with the waterfall of sweat from the summer) or a shirt that is too small for me it doesn't print. You slide it in your waistband of your pants all the way to the top lip, and run your belt through the two loops for extra stability. It fits tight enough without a belt that I carry that way when just doing quick stuff around the house like garbage, mail, etc. When I'm going out for the day I'll put a belt on.

As for keeping it from printing, I'd either carry at about 3 o'clock so your arm naturally blocks any print or about 5 o'clock since most people will look/scan at you when you are approaching. I prefer 5 o'clock as it hovers right over my wallet. I find 99% of the time, if someone notices the print it is because you are over conscious of it and keep adjusting - not that it is actually visible (well, unless you are trying to hide a .50 desert eagle under your shirt... lol). Whichever you choose, practice, practice, and practice some more drawing while unloaded. You'll find your optimal placement when doing this and build up the muscle memory and confidence.

Shoot Tac a PM too, I don't own anything from him but I like what I see posted. Always good to support the community when you can. The only drawback to Milt Sparks is there is a waiting list. Everything they do is handmade and takes awhile. Worth it in the end imho though.
