so ive been wanting to carry for awhile and just have never had the extra $280 with holster to carry. so i was just on vacation and was gonna do my best to save some of my spending money so i could do it when i got back. when i was on vacation my cousin called me and told me her boyfriends (ive spoke of him on here before, great guy, good friend and will be a cop soon) dad was at the bar shooting poolfor a league and a guy was talkin some trash and he justblew it off, well the guy didnt like that and punched my friends dad. the 'fight' got broken up and the guy got kicked out of the bar while my friends dad was allowed to remain since he hadnt done anything wrong. well the guy that punched my friends dad and got kicked out returned with a gun and walked in and shot and killed my friends dad in cold blood. http://www.inforum.com/event/article/id/272582/ i had never met his dad and am sorry for his loss but it really made me realize most of all that, 280$ is nothing if i can save my life. so i decidedthat regardless of my spendings i was gonna do what i have to so i can carry. i just got home today and first thing i did was ordered a cross breed super tuck deluxe for my xd .40 sub-compact. ive heard really really good things about this holster. someone posted a video a little while ago showing how well it conceals. when i get the holster ill post a review of how it feels and after awhile of carrying ill post again to see if my opinion has changed.

Cohen,

My Crossbreed MiniTuck just showed up yesterday at home. I'm away right now, but I'll give you my opinions on it when I get the chance. I went on TAC's advice. The mini is for my Kel-Tec PF-9, but the concept is the same as the super tuck. It took about 3 weeks from order to delivery.

Well one thing to remember, I know that in OH, KY, TN and IN you aren't allowed to carry in a bar, so make sure for your sake check with your local laws, I think it'd be hard to post from jail.

i barely ever go to the bars. for being 23 im pretty mature and over that party scene. dont get me wrong i like to put them back from time to time but its not at the bar. usually in the comfort of a friends home. ill learn all the laws about carrying when i take the course. im not sure but i think in mn you can have a bac of .04 and still carry but like i said im not forsure. ive talked to my dad before about me carrying a gun and he always laughed and thought i was wasting my money. well he thinks its not a bad idea anymore after he realized people are fuckin crazy and it can happen to anyone.

GR, you can carry in bars in MN. as long as your under the legal carry limit of .04 your good here. Cohen, i've got good experience with the issue, haha. i dont know if i ever told you the time i was banned from the state fair for carrying and drinking... (just so everyone knows, i was under .04 and did NOTHING wrong) the cops just never dealt with the issue before and didnt know what to do, so i just agreed and went along with it and left, i didnt feel like starting shit or arguing because they didnt know the laws and my wife was with me so i just wanted to get it over with. so yes, you can drink and carry in MN.

I would be very cautious carrying a firearm and drinking. While the law allows for a .04 bac any half-assed lawyer could win a civil suit involving ANY amount of alcohol during a shooting incident. Being absolved legally doesn't protect you from a civil suit when involved in a shooting while drinking. Just my $.04

You are correct about that. 'Better to be judged by 12 rather than carried by 6' might weigh in somewhere of course however. In my opinion, best compromise solution is to carry, but avoiding drinking in the first place.

My permit in Iowa, if the question ever comes up, specifically says on it that I can not carry into an establishment that's primary business is selling alcohol. even a liquor store. Which is shitty. But I rearely go to a bar and never to a liquor store! Wally world is cheaper anyway...
