Okay, it's getting hotter and freaking hotter here and I'm tired of wearing an over shirt to cover up my belt rig. I'm thinking Inside the Pants and then I can wear a freaking t-shirt. Who's got some suggestions for me?

I really like the ones that go behind the belt and then a little hook on the end for the belt. Do I want to go with plastic or leather? Alright you guys, let me have it! By the way, it's for my XD 4".

Uncle Mikes makes decent inside the pants holsters. I personally use a small butt pack I can cliparound my waist either over my t-shirt or under. Costs about $7 at wally world and it holds my wallet and taurus millenium pro 745 with extra mag and room to spare.

I have a DeSantis 028 M9
Has the reinforced lip,sweatguard and 2 snap loops. The loops have just enough clearance to put a belt loop through and will accommodate a 2" belt. I carry the S&W ProNine in it. Its leather and is a nice snug fit. The snaps will only
come off with pressure applied from the top. Trying to unsnap it from underneath is impossible.
It also has an adjustable tension screw. It's a pretty dandy set up. I find it comfortable for a period of time. What I mean by that: After extended carry the muzzle portion of the barrel will begin to bruise my hip bone. When that happens, I have to turn the whole get-up clockwise thus putting it a little further to the rear than optimum for me.If my barrel was 4in. this would not be a problem. Now the rest of the story. This holster is not designed to for the long ProNine.It's made for the M&P 9 which has a shorter
barrel. No problem, I took a chop saw and relieved a portion to allow the barrel to stick through. I still love this holster and if they get around to making one that actually fits the gun ,I will buy it.
This is the reason it presses on the hipbone because there is no leather there.

DeSantis makes some very nice holsters. The Federal Air Marshals and Federal Flight Deck Officers use DeSantis rigs.

Check them out, and also Galco. I prefer leather over nylon. It will last a lot longer and I think it's more comfortable.

I mostly use Galco leather. Whatever you end up using wear an A-shirt under with a long regular shirt over. It will rub againt your skin. Get shirt one size big.

Oversized clothing isn't just for hip hop anymore! I usually wear a t-shirt or compression shirt under the holster as well.

I carry in a vertical type holster cross-draw. Outside the belt, with a XXL t shirt un-tucked. It doesn't print much and if it prints a little I don't care since the law only requires that we make a reasonable attempt to conceal. IWB should make it print less. Some IWB holsters have a large flat layer of leather that goes against the skin to keep the gun from touching you. Some only come up behind the rear of the slide, which seems like a complete waist of time (pun intended). When/If I purchase a 1911 for carry I'll be looking for an IWB holster that doesn't let any part of the gun touch my skin. My body is much too pretty to let it get scratched up. :)

Hey John, if maybe I can insert my 2 1/2 cents on this topic. I have had a lot of success using an IWB holster from Crossbreed Holsters, specifically their SuperTuck Deluxe in horsehide. But I do have to warn you that with a new holster that you will get rubbed a little the first day. After that they are the most comfortable holster bar none. I would also suggest that you call them and ask that they set the holster with tight retention. I always carry a Glock 21 and am able to do it without printing, even under just a loose t-shirt.

I use a pocket holster rather than inside the pants. More comfortable, but then that's just me.

I originally bought a DeSantis for my 38 special. It was fine at first, but developed problems when I'd used it a while. I found that over time the nylon stretched, causing two issues. First of all, the gun became loose in the holster. When I would attempt to draw it, if I didn't pull it exactly straight, the gun would tip forward and wedge itself in the holster. Once that happened there was no chance of getting it out. I decided having to fight to get my gun out was not a desirable trait in a concealed carry holster. Also, after a while, the light nylon molded itself to my gun, adopting its shape, which defeated one of the major functions of a pocket holster, preventing it from printing and advertising to anyone and everyone that you are carrying. I replaced that holster with a leather Galco and couldn't be happier. It fits the gun perfectly. Draws effortlessly. The folded, rounded rim holds shape so well I can draw the gun and reholster smoothly without removing the holster from my pocket. And you can tell there is a slight bulge in my pocket when I sit down, but it looks like anything but a gun.

I've posted pictures of both holsters with the gun holstered. You can see that the DeSantis holster is clearly printing the shape of the gun.

I sometimes carry my PM9 in either my left or right front pants pocket ,depending on what I am wearing out side or my S&W mod 60 five shot in one I made, also in either front pocket depending on what I am carrying on the outside. Many times I carry either one or the other as a 'bug'.

Both work very well concealing. Jim

IP, I have the bianchi pro-carry IWB holster for my kimber. I really like it however I wish the clip had a slight cant as I like to carry SOB.

I use a kirkpatrick Leather Hidden Defense TXC for my 1911. Wearing a wife beater tucked down below the barrel and a regular T shirt over top it hides beautifaly Rides great and is no bother(once ya get the leather broke in) It has a shield that extends slightly higher than the hammer and beaver tail which keeps it from pinching when entering and exiting a vehicle,has great retension memory, Have had the holster a little over a yr and carry it Ever day, haven't had a lick of trouble with it yet. The with the right belt it doesnt move unless you move it,I have done several running, Fall down and run and Cover Drills with thsi Rig and the gun has never once fell out or popped out of the holster. In my opinion the money paid was worth it

Im using a Wilson double belt loop inside the pants for my Ultra, and I also have a smaller Galco that I use occasionally. I need to find a quality .380 that I can carry in my pocket.
