Can't believe it. Already got my permit in the mail today. I am looking for a good in the pant holster to carry a 1911 with. Any suggestions for a comfortable holster for a full size 1911 untill I can get a 3" 1911? I appreciate any help you guys can offer me.

Congrats on the permit! Glad to see you exercising your rights!

As for the holster, TAC is your guy. I'd say he is the defacto go-to-member for holster related questions. His holster making skills, and collection of holsters is bar none the most impressive I've seen.

Thanks guys!! Thanks for the info Tac. GREAT stuf!! I appreciate the help. I didn't think it would happen so fast, I just took the class on the 7th and 8th and was told would take 5-6 weeks but came in just one. Time to go shopping (If the warden gives me a kitchen pass lol)

They twisted my arm!!! went to gun store to look at a couple IWB holsters and found one I liked at my price range.... or so I thought. They twisted my arm ever so gently into buying a kimber ultra carry to go with my new IWB holster. I bought a Bianchi holster because it was the most comfortable and hid that ultra carry really well in a white t-shirt. ofcourse I now have to cook dinner....already got the flowers to beg for lienency. It's a good thing she is the sweetest most understanding gal!!

Damn Doc, you're lucky! My wife would have zip tied my nuts so tightly, they'd have fallen off. Wait, maybe they are already gone! The last pistol I bought was a 1911, she still gives me flack about it and it's been over 9 months ago already.

Recoil, after 45 years my wife doesn't flinch. After I had bought the Glock 23 a while back a few days later I said, bought a new gun need to show it to you sometime. She said OK, still haven't showed it to her, she didn't show enough interest. Someday need to tell her about the Buckmark that she said that would be fun to shoot. Now when I bring a new safe home she will have a fit, can hear her now "where are you going to put that". Don't think "living room" would be a good answer at that time. Need to think that one out a little more. As long as I don't mess up her plans don't have a problem.

I think it's like $115.00. I pretty much have the money but the catch is the wife wants a TV for Christmas.So I'm not sure if I should spend the money on the permit or not. I may end up selling some stuff for Christmas money. If I don't get this TV I'm in trouble. I've ben trying to avoid the matter for two years and I can't put it off any longer.

A little bonus tip...have them delivered to her work place in front of her coworkers. The added attention she gets there will get you 'added' attention at home that night. While the flowers are still blooming, you can buy whatever the hell you want.

Congrats Doc.. You done good with the Kimber... I love mine. My last Kimber (Utra CDP) was actually purchased for me as a Christmas present BY MY WIFE! (Recoil, she does have a single sister, but she's single for a reason.... nuttier than a 10 pound bag of squirrel shit!)

My wife hates flowers... I'm better off with dinner and a subscription to the coffee of the month club....

I try to tell her that it's better than me having a "smokey bar" obsession and I just get that evil leer from her with no comment.
