Just wondering a little more about these as far as velocity and knock down power. Have heard things about them goingboth ways, wondering what this caliber is used for the most. Would consider picking up a glock chambered in it? But need some more info, thanks all

I won't try and talk you out of one, I'm sure they are great shooters and I don't own a .357 sig personally.

However,​ I will say that the .357 sig isn't the most popular round out there. Meaning, if shtf, it won't be readily available.

I'd keep it simple, buy a .40, .45, 9mm. You can always find ammo for them as they are really, really popular.

Again, not trying to push you...just inform you of something to think about.

Recoil

I had a XD9mm and still own a 1911 .45, but a buddy of mine has a glock in .357, and I shot better with that gun at 20 yards just after picking it up off the hood of the truck. Compaired to the year or so I have had with the other 2. I loved it and plan on getting one at some time another.

This is an excellent bullet. I have the Glock 31, 32, 33, and a sigpro 2340.Who could complain about having15 magnum rounds instead of 5 or 6? The recoil has a snap to it, but itis controllable. There is a few state patrol agencies using the bullet. The ballistics are better than most semi-autos and the penetration is remarkable.

I have two HK's both P2000, one 9mm, and the other .357sig of coarse. I like the round personally, it has a lot of power to push through barriers or glass and still retain its velocity. Thats what I usually carry 12 1 Winchester Rangers. I dont really think that is kicks a lot more than the 40 or the 45,but it is much louder. However like they said it is an expensive round and not that common, although I have had no problem buying it by the case online.

While I don't own any pistols in .357 sig, I have fired both a Glock and a Sig 226 in that caliber. I have to echo what others have said in that recoil and noise are significantly higher than the .40S&W and the 9mm. It is a sharper kick and sound than the .40 but less than the 10mm so it is controllable but does take some getting used to. Feeding was flawless in both pistols but then again, a friend an I only went through about 200 rounds. I think I'd liken the power/recoil/shockwa​ve between a 9mm and a .357 sig as that of a .38SPL to a .357 Mag cartridge.

Come to think of it, the .357 sig cartridges seemed louder andkicked significantlymore than 9mm Corbon 115gr rounds. I don't know the bullet weight of the .357sig rounds we were firing but from specs I had read, I thought they were supposed to have similar velocities of just over 1300 fps(someone please correct me if I am wrong).

BTW, I am not sure if it is due to the fact the Glock slides are lower in respect to the shooting hand compared to other pistols or if the polymer frame helps to absorb some of the shock(or something else) but the stronger cartridges seem to have less felt recoil as opposed to say an allow frame like theSig226.

I Own a glock 23 and a glock 31. I conceal carry my 23 because it is smaller but really like shooting the .357 although it is harder to find ammo for and is more expensive. The recoil to me seems a little sharper with the .357 but is managable. My wife carries the sig with her alot and she likes it better than the model 23. The Tn. highway patrol are using the .357 also.
