My girlfriend is in the market for a piece she can call her own instead of borrowing mine. So we went to the local shop and let her hold a multitude of make and models. At the end of the day, she liked the way the XD9 felt in her hand.
So we went to the range and rented their XD9 to see how she would shoot with it. She was having trouble placing rounds on the silhouette at 20
ft. (much less anywhere near any vitals)!!
So figuring she was doing something wrong, I took the
XD and started to load another mag while giving her my Colt Defender to shoot in the meantime. She rapidly emptied the mag with a 2-3" grouping (she can shoot better, but I think she was nervous with having shot so poorly on the
XD).
I put 10 rounds in the
XD (think it was a 16 1 capacity) and placed 4 out of 10 on the silhouette and only counted 7 holes on the entire paper itself. I've never in my entire life shot so horribly. Annoyed, I put my other mag in the Defender and emptied the mag dead between where eyes should be.
The lease common denominater is the XD9 is a piece of shit. Anyone else here own or have shot a XD9? I'm curious if the range piece just needs serious work or if the XD9 itself is better at being a paperweight. I am so glad we decided to go rent first before buying that pile of garbage.
