I stopped at Dick's Sporting Goods in Minnetonka today as I was in the area, I wanted to browse their shotgun ammo for the upcoming season. There were no handguns at the gun counter, and and no handgun ammo anywhere in sight.
I said to the older guy working the gun counter "no handgun ammo, huh?" in a friendly tone. The guy looked at me like I was stupid and said "YEA", "Behind the counter!". Then I asked if they had any .380 and he pulled out a 100 pack of Remington white and green box for $44.99 and told me how rare .380 ammo is. I told him that price was way out of line and I imagined that Dick's will lower their pricing soon as the shortage is pretty much over.
He insisted that it was incredibly hard to find and the prices will never come down (keep in mind I can buy Remington .380 boxes of 50 for $16.99 at Walmart or $18.99 from Gander Mtn.) and his attitude was incredibly condescending. I told him that Cabelas has piles of .380 ammo on the floor right now, some of which is Federal on sale for $13.99, as well as many other deals. I told him I did not want to rub it in his face, just letting him know so he can sell more ammo.
The clown then told me that they are "way bigger" than Cabelas and get the best deals on ammo, etc. He told me I was wrong and shook his head at me. My local Walmart carries .380 ammo for gods sake and this guy is selling for .45
ACP prices, claiming it's gold......I was so close to driving to Cabelas and taking a video on my phone of the selection then going back to play it for this ass.
Cabelas is loaded on all types of Ammo right now FYI......prices have come down to. Like a kid in a candy store I tell ya!
