MISTER Obama speaks of times in written History when the Islamic faith, conquering Rome and Hebriac influence after the time of Christ's crucifixion rose to worldwide prominence and became a benevolent faith due to their religious and cultural dominance of those times in the period before the Age of Iron, also known as the Dark Ages, before they in their turn were revolted against by "Medieval" Europeans and the rise of Catholism, commonly known as the Crusades, when the time of the Knights Templar, aided by the remnants of the Emperor Constantine's Hebrew followers, after the fall of Rome to the Mongols, into France, Germany and England sought protection into the Holy Lands to make their pilgrimage in safety. Up to that point, ancient Islamic influence concerning religion and culture was widespread throughout what is modern-day Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Israel and Nations surrounding the Mediterranean Sea.
When a ruling religious class is in the majority, the leaders of it are benign in nature, when it becomes threatened and overrun by another, in this case Christianity, it becomes hostile, at first to its own later to those who seek to stray outside its influence. A Holy War erupts and an end-game scenario becomes the order of the day. Ancient Islamic faith was a sight to behold, true, however, in light of 20th and 21st Century beliefs in freedom and freedoms of mankind, this dated influence becomes lesser in the widespread progression of mankind's awakening.
If the Islamic faith stuck to the early dictates of its writings, it would see that Abraham, throughout the writings of the Quran, stressed mercy to those who truly believed in the original author of the book of the prophet Muhammed. Sorry guys, I have no dog in this fight on a personal note, I have researched the Koran/Quran and found out many of it's beliefs are on a parallel with Christianity, though.
