I went to visit the in-laws today for Labor Day. I took my M&P9c and my Ar to do some shooting while I was there. I thought I would do a follow up on the M&P. So far I have tried multiple brands of ammo. Winchester FMJ ,Remington FMJ,Winchester NATO FMJ,Speer Gold Dot,Federal Hydro Shocks, and Independence FMJ. All brands and types including hollow points have performed 100% flawless. I've hit about the 500 round mark or a little more without any failures. So I pretty well deem it reliable and safe for carry. The only issue I've had with the pistol is the front white dot fell off the sight at around 120 rounds or so. I used fishing lure paint for now until I can contact S&W about the issue. I'm sure they will take care of it. They are suppose to have really good customer service.

I've had no feeding issues with mine either (well I did once, but it was crappy reloads from a friend that jammed his glock too) and I've put a few thousand through mine now. My front sight was lose but never fell off. I just noticed I needed to re-center it every couple months while I was carrying it. Usually the back of a lighter was enough to set it.

I've heard about people having issues with the magazine release button sticking, but have not experienced it with my own piece.

When I picked up my Colt compact 1911, I retired the M&P from regular carry. I did that mainly because I never felt comfortable carrying the M&P with one chambered. Girlfriend carries it now without one chambered.
