Just after reading the post that Fox put up about the backyard range I found this on the front page of our local paper. This is the range that is owned by DPMS and is located right behind the plant. I have shot here a number of times but in the last few months have found a place to go on private property. I am familiar with the pistol range and I don't know how this could have happen unless someone was shooting somewhere besides into the berm where the target stands are. Very unfortunate for the young woman to have been injured like that. I hope it can all be resolved without closing down the range.

Makes me wonder if it was really from the range mentioned, from one of the two other ranges or someone shooting in the woods to save the expense of a range membership. I sympathize with the couple on her injury but near an existing shooting range is not a good place to build a house. Should have known better. My range was at one time in the woods but developers have built up right to the property line and the town even built a school next door. The sports fields are in sight of our trap range and 300yd rifle range.

The way I see it, if you intentionally go into harms way you should expect harm at some point.

yeah i was just telling blue torch last night how i wanted to do the next dmps zombie shoot and he brought this to my attention. i hope the meeting last night went good.

You are right J.D. A housing development built up righ next to the two high school baseball diamond. There have numerous house windows broken out from foul balls. There also have been siding knocked off and dented and even cars dented sitting in the drives. They had the gonads to try to have the BB field shut down....it was there years before any houses were there.
That is why nobody lives on an artillery range.
