How could you not have a Luger at one time or the other?
Thereare so many variations that I collected all the books in the 70's and 80's, and on a visit to Arizona, Ralph Shattuck invited me to his home (aka: gun safe) where I sat for three days and just listened. Latyer, I bought a few from him, also Syd Rachwall (MI), but always passed on Mr. Simpson's bargains (IL).
Remeber those $19.95 ads in the back of the NRA mag in the 1962?
I concentrated on the Artilleries. The onliest one I have left is the perfect "shooter". I spent a long time out of the US and I didn't want my potential widow to be stuck with an unweildy collection. I sold all but one off.
It's a beautifuly restored (not refinished) DWM Arty with the repro stock and holster. The barrel is kinda frosty but it shoots nice groups, albeit 11 o'clock (no matter what).
I put it on the firing line with the stock (It is a grandfathered SBR exception by ATF letter!) at the NRA Family Camps that I always go to. Amazing how many people want to fire that one over any UZI, H&K or exotic.
I compare them to older Swiss watches versus our current Seikos.
