The M1 carbine and 1911 are not original, the garand on the other hand is a near correct 5 digit (1940) from the CMP.

For those who do not know, CMP stands for "Civilian Marksmanship Program". They recently recieved the last batch of lend lease garands, supposedly when they run out there will never be any more (from them). If you ever want a Garand, now would be the time. Its a fairly complicated process to join the CMP, you actually need to join an affilated club first. You can start by going here:

All I have actually from WWII is a No5 Enfield-

I thought I had a pic in photobucket...

Ialso have a Yugo Mauser M48 though its not a 'real' WWII rifle

Id like to see pics of that enfield when you get a chance, wherd you pick that up from? Wouldnt mind having one myself to go along with my garands and carbine.

Here we go-

Its got wear on the top of the barrel from all the rifle racks it sat in and got removed from inits life.

The Buttplate has some serious finish wear and I will be replacing it

Someone somewhere in its life removed the lower stock 'lip' that covered part of the underside of the barrel forward of where it currently stops.

I got a good price on it and its a shooter but it is so light its not fun to shoot after 70 or 80 rounds

Ah thats a bummer about the stock being cut off, but it still looks good regardless. If its ever not fun to shoot after 1 round just let me know

M91/30,M38,M44, all dated 1944 or before. 1942 Enfield, and a 1937 K31, Kind of counts, doesn't it?

thats a beautiful No. 5 id really like to have one for my enfield collection, but i cant see spending that kind of money. what id really like to do is find a nice old No.4 that somebody has hacked up to make a "sporter" and fix it up with the No. 5 kit ive seen on the internet

i have 4 true world war two guns. i have a m1 garand all matching parts from 1942. I also have a russian mosin nauget, two british lee enfields and one of those is US property, i love these guns but i have to recomend the m1 garand! i love that gun just as much if not more than my AR-15! get one.

I'd love to have an M1, fired one a lot before our guard unit got rid of them and got the black rifles. I see a lot of them at gun shows for sale. I think I'd rather have an M1A1.

CMP is the source of probably 9/10 of those. If you want a garand, get it from the CMP and not a gunshow dealer. Most of those gunshow dealers are buying racks/fields/service grades, then marking them up by as much as 100%. Some go so far as to buy rack grade rifles, clean them up and call them pristine, collector grade, etc, just to make a buck. To top it off, you are not supposed to order CMP guns for the purpose of resale....
