Looking for an ID

I found this in my girlfriend's father's house in France and was wondering what it was. If you guys have any idea what it might be I'd love the info. I already tried looking it up online but couldn't really find anything other than info on a rocket launching station in Sardinia. The white bar that is obscured by the flash is inscribed "POLIGONO INTERFORZE"

It's definitely an award or crest for a military component in Italy that dealt with the launching and development of military rockets, And later some civilian rocketry......The term "INTERFORZE" means a "Combined Force" of military components - Kinda like NASA......Looks like "Aviator wings" on the top with an Anchor and flaming bomb - Possibly an Insignia for Naval Aviator/Bomber pilot ???.......And Salto De Quirra seems to be their version of Cape Canaveral(Kennedy) dating back to the 1960's.....Don't know how old this is or what particular unit it belonged to, Click on these links for clues......If you click on the different language options on the left "Italiano" you will see that crest and an explanation of it.

Looks like it's just a unit plaque ... Salto de Quirra is a launching site, and the Poligono Interforze is more or less an interservice organization for testing and experimentation. From what I understand it's sort of the Italian version of ... Darpa, Dreamland, and Pax River, all mixed into one. I might be wrong, though ...

I think you pretty much got it right......It's either an award, plaque or wall hanger, We both know from our military days units were always having "Swag" made up for awards or handouts.

You guys are awesome thanks. I was really curious what it could be seeing as my girlfriends father had no military connections and the house was old and creepy and full of strange stuff.
