Switched from Glock to HK a while ago. All the benefits of tough, durable, and simple, but slightly thinner and more options on carry mode. I prefer locked and cocked SA. If I so choose, I can decock, go safety off, and carry DA/SA. Back up is a Kel Tec PF-9 for ultra conceal ability. The other nice thing is that the HK USP 45 has less recoil than a Glock 40.

JD, I have a Glock 23 with Mepro nighsights and Hogue slip-on rubber grips with finger grooves as my CC pistol. I've owned a Glock 22 and 17, but sold them after a few years, but finally went back to the Glock 23 in .40 cal due to the the 13 round magazine. I alternate carrying my .45acp Colt Combat Commander depending on the weather and amount of clothing.

At one time I was thinking for the wife, getting her a G19 or a G25 .380, but she does not like Autos that much and would rather have a revolver..
I thought about the G21 for myself at one time.....
It is funny, years ago I had a friend that had a 19 and I had a 92FS, we switch one day, he could hit better with my 92 and I could shoot better with his 19, but he wouldn't trade me.....

I will admit my Glock 19 is getting long in the Tooth......

But when it comes to fitting my hand, Mag Capacity, Size and portability - It's almost a full sized pistol that's easy to carry.....I looked at the XD's in 9mm but what they call a 'Sub-Compact' is quite a bit smaller than I like, Less Mag Capacity, And about the size of a Glock 26.

I have yet to try one of the HK Sub-Compacts......But one I saw had over a $700 Price Tag (Ouch!!!)

HK makes standard and compact models. The USP series is a nice group of pistols. The compact model, IMO, is the way to go, since barrel length is still long enough for good accuracy and it has a full length grip. That being said, I paid $935 for my HK USP Compact 45ACP. I think the retail prices have come down into the upper $800's with some deals to be had. The USP Compact 9mm runs down into the high $700's. Very nice firearms, but a little on the pricey side.

I'd like to add a G23C to my collection but not a serious consideration at the moment. If I come across a great deal down the road I'll probably jump on it but won't make a purchase of one a priority. Haven't shot a G20 either but would kinda like one of those too.

For some reason I find myself occasionally sort of wanting a G19 just to have. No real interest in 9mms anymore. Probably have a few thousand once-fired cases in a closet somewhere but sold off my Taurus pt-100 in stainless years ago. Sold two belt holsters and a Galco Miami Classic rig and eight mags with it.

Would be interesting if Glock would come out with a line of single-stacked pistols. Probably would fail in the marketplace though.

I carry a Glock 26 for a CCW I love it . 9mm is a little weak for my taste I wish they made the 26 in a 40.

They do... It's called the Model 27. Same gun, just in .40 S&W, with a slightly reduced mag capacity. Same price too.

A nice feature(?) of the G26/27 is adding a Plus2 kit to one of the stock mags which adds length to the grip making it feel more like a G19/23. I use this mag for carry in winter and the other stock mag for summer carry. Call it the poor man's way of having both guns in one I guess. ;)

I won my first Glock in 1998.Honestly, as a 1911 guy(wood and steel)I wasn't impressed.The water pistol feel of even a high cap 9 was weird.As a employee of D.O.E. i had unlimited access to 9 mikes.Several friends and I put almost 10,000 rounds through it in 3 mos.Besides wiping off the outer so not to crud us up too bad, the pistol never burped,farted or failed to feed.Combat accuracy and a never say fail attitude made me a believer.Presently i have a standard,ported in .357 sig and love it.My original 9 now resides with my wife.Clean and with freshened mags I'm confident if she ever has to drop a hammer some douche bag will soak u several golden sabers. Believe me when i tell you"that dog'll hunt".

Last summer I polished up the part of the trigger housing that the connector contacts and the trigger bar where it contacts the firing pin safety and switched out the stock 5lb Connector for a 3.5lb Connector.
I like it a lot. My brother and father say it feels too light to be safe. The trigger travel is still the same distance, it's just lighter. No safety issue as far as I'm concerned.

I'll polish up the sides of the firing pin safety (when I'm less lazy) this summer to smooth it up as well.
