Nice gun... Congrats on the "little bundle of joy"....
As far as the M2 light goes, it most likely wouldn't be realistic to carry it attached to the weapon without a specific light mounted holster, but if you ever decide to use the pistol for home defense as a "bed side night stand" gun, having the light attached is a huge benifit. If you have ever tried to search with a light in one hand and a gun in the other, let alone shoot that way, you will come to LOVE a weapons mounted light system. I have several light mounted handguns, beyond just my duty weapon. My "bed side night stand gun" is my XD .45 Tactical with a Streamlight TLR1 mounted on it. When things go "bump in the night" and you go to see what it was, having that light attached to the pistol will make it considerably easier to open doors, identify any potential threats, and/or use your support hand to defend against a physical attack vs. having it seperate from the gun.
