A friend of mine took these videos around the corner from his house. We live in the suburbs and this shows that we can grow big deer in Tennessee when they are not shot as young-ins.

I feel you splat. We got annexed by the CITY a few years ago so hunting around here is a NO NO. Since then I have seen large numbers of Deer in the front yard and in the driveway when I get home in the evening.

I usually see 2-3 Doe in the front yard every night. Thats a beast of a buck for a neighborhood though.

Splat, nice buck. I see this Tennessee Muy Grande is hiding his sweet spot. Smart deer.

My son and I hunted our lease on the Edwards Plateau/Hill Country, Thanksgiving Day through Saturday and saw only doe. We needed some venison for the freezer, so he took a spike. For the second hunt I got nothing. I'm more interested in hogs but Friday night after supper neither of us were sober enough to be handling firearms and spotlighting for hogs at cattle tank/waller("pond" for non-Texans) So far, I am chomping at the bit to take down a hog with the .223 and HSM hollowpoints.

The acorn crop is good and rains we had in October seem to be allowing deer to avoid our feeders. As a result, I did a lot of walking Friday and found several trails and a couple of senderos I will still hunt this coming weekend. I now have the image from your post in mind and will do a bit of rattling.

Again, nice videos of a nice deer.

I am switching my hunting strategy in the morning. I went today and it was quiet. We have a cold night tonight and despite the full moon, I think they will be moving in the morning.

We have had allot of acorns too. I am going to hunt a stand tomorrow that is near the acorns and a percimman tree. I hope she pays off. There is a nice buck in that area no one has been able to get yet.

Lots of large acorns everywere and It appears to be a late rut for us. I took to rattling on Sun. in the Am. I called in a large 8pt. he was in full out attack mode, but my pics. were very dark. I'm hoping nobody takes him this year. I've actually seen a few nice bucks this year I took 2 does and a 4pt.(3x1) so far, and a 47lb. coyote.
