A little research, or a long memory, would show that Olympia Snow has long been a R.I.N.O. - Republican In Name Only, just like Arlan Spector and others. She has been toted by the democrats as a republican "voice of reason" in the past when she sides with them You must remember that the northeast was the original bastion of liberalism before it spread to the Left Coast and as such, many up there think as the dems do. Right now the power in the democratic party has shifted to the "chicago machine" who had been cut out since the 1960's and Kennedy. Clinton was the voice of the progressive South. Al Gore shifted the balance away from the South to the Northeast with Kerry. After that loss, the chicago machine seized the reigns with a win-win canidate - Obama. If he wins and gets his program through - the Dems win. If he wins and anyone opposes him, they'll be labeled a racist - and the dems win. He is the keystone to building the new "house of america". If he screws up and loses re-election, they'll say he's suffering from a "learning curve" being black and the first black president - so the dems will still look "good" and progressive. Politics my children, it's all politics.

When I retire from the Sheriff's Office, I am going to move to the Philippines, where my wife is from.

You can actually own a gun there! If you can afford it, you can own it. And except for Mindinao andsome parts of Manila, they love Americans. My wife is from the Olongapo City/Subic Bay area, and her Dad is a retired U.S. Navy civilian employee.

We talked about moving to Australia where her 2 older bothers live, but I nixed that idea real quick once I found out for sure that a private citizen there can't legally own a handgun. What a bunch of bullshit that law is! No way I live in Australia. The Philippines will do just fine. You can own a handgun there, and they like basketball, and they have very warm weather all year long. I'm set!

I am the son of a Sicilian immigrant. He was a baby when my grandparents brought him here, but heand my grandparents always said they were AMERICANS first. AMERICANS. And my Dad served in the U.S. Army during WWII, all over north Africa and Europe.They were all so proud to be AMERICANS, it meant everything to them all.

I watch what is happening and it sickens me. But these things happen for a reason, and those reason(s) become more apparent every day. But if civil disobedience is the only recourse we are left with, then that is what it will be.

I dislike violence and fighting. Pretty funny since I've been a cop for over 30 years now. But if that's what it takes to rid our country of these jackals and hyenas then that's what must be.

Actually​ pilot, I am right on the SW side of Lake Okeechobee, about 20 minutes north of Clewiston. Other side of the lake.

That said, I am never opposed to putting a few rounds downrange, wherever it may be.

Ilived over in Vero Beach, Ft. Pierce, Port St. Lucie, Stuart, Tallahassee, and thenOkeechobee for quite awhile until I found my final stop on the law enforcement statewide barnstorming tour when I accidentally discovered where I'm at now. Never been happier than I am now, and especially since I finally remarried after nearly 18 years of confirmed bachelorhood. It has all come together for me, finally.

It is so quiet at night out here where I live now. Right on a rim canal going out into the lake. Sometimes, especially on a cool night, when I take the dog out, I can hear cows mooing, alligators grunting, and the wind gently blows around the house. Nice and peaceful. Of course, I do have everything in place so that if trouble comes, I'll have overlapping fields of fire laid out to foul up any bad intentions.

Seriousl​y? By all means, give me a yell. If I can, I will.

Heck, if it's on a weekend, I may even be able to wriggle out of the "honey-do" list.
