have preferred 308 for my deer and hog hunting. will use a 223 next fall. did not plan on this ,but, 2 of the 3 deer i got last year was with a 1911. i'm really not that good with a pistol but the crimson trace grips helped a lot.yes, ct's are legal in arkansas.used to shoot high-power and long-range but old eyes and a bad back forced me out.(have family in charlottesville so thanks for asking)
