Hello y'all. My name is John and I'm up in northwest Illinois, or as we say here 'The People's Republic of Illinois.' I'm a 1911 addict, and long time shooter.

I participate in the CMP M1 Garand forums, and the 6.8 SPC forum, and one of the guys there recommended this forum, so here I am!

I've been a shooter, handloader, and competitive shooter for 40 years. I have some limited background in gunsmithing, stock work, and lots in handloading of wildcats, and other exotica.

Hey Rifter, good to know you. I think you'll fit right in here, as we are all gun nuts, love the Constitution and I don't think there are too many here who wouldn't die to defend it.

Don't be shy, jump right in and start answering/posting questions. Guys around here will find the answer, if it means trying to reproduce the problem or testing it out on their range. There are no dumb questions, only poorly worded ones!

Nevermind what the Jarhead from Mississippi said, he suffers from PTSD (Picked The wrong Service Disorder).

(Sigh) Why must we have this disorder in our ranks? If you knuckleheads would only come to terms with your lack of Marine Corps order and recognize (and yea, acknowledge the true greatness of the Few, the Proud) all this discord could be resolved with the two of you donning the Blues of those in my beloved ranks. I don't know...As far as owning asses, I think the AF has the largest budget for owning mass quantities of shit. They can own your ass from, well, space. Now, that's getting owned, beotchs! If I could do it again...it'd be Army. I like mud and guns. And the Army would've let me fly too. All three. Oh wait. I dive too. That's four. But I digress.

Why do you think I picked Rangers? Mud and guns! I didn't get to fly but I was flown all over the place I don't think I landed with a plane more than 15% of the time. I also enjoyed hitting the tree tops with my boots sitting in the door of a UH-60A!
