iam looking for scopes but my budget is no more then 300 i would like to have allot of magnification the closer the better for me iam not some one who like to shoot 100yrds with irons i no i should be able to but iam just not that person

it can be a nice used scope it will be going on my ar i only have 100yards to shoot at enviroment is a shooting range

Go for the Leupold Mark AR in 3-9x, 4-12x, or the 6-18x. All three have 40mm objectives. The 3-9 x 40 is $300. You'll need rings, so you may want to find a used one. the bullet drop compensator is matched up for .223 55gr ammo.

yea i have looked at those they have them for under 300 here at our local academy i just wish they had a little more zoom but phuck it i guess ill just have to live with it thanks room if any one else as any other scopes they no of please let me no

Leupold is most likely the best one to get. They also own the Redfield name and produce them in Or. There is a 4 - 12 model for around 200 at OpticsPlanet http://www.opticsplanet.net/redfield-revolution-4-12x40mm-riflescope-matte-finish-4-plex-accu-range-reticle.html

I have a 3x9 one and like it pretty well.Has clear optics and so far has held zero with around 250 - 300 rounds through my AR-10. I have it mounted with a one piece mount, a Burris PEPR. I didn't have the money for a more top of the line scope at the time I got it, but am happy with it. Well enough that I'm not looking for anything different anyway. I have some relatives that have Simmons scopes on all of their high power rifles and won't even look at anything else.

Guess I'm saying that there are other options than just the best. Go and look through all of the scopes you can and find one you like.

Don't dismiss the Nikon........They have 3 models of scopes : Pro-Staff, Pro-Hunter, Omega......Don't really know all the differences between them but the optics are very nice IMHO.

They've also came out with BDC offerings and around that $300 price tag or less, They can be bought at Walmart.........Or Natchez is always carrying refurbished units way below cost.

I was thinking of going with one.

That's Nikon's newer hi-end offering(Max Likes).......But they do make the scopes I described as well in BDC for $300 or less.

Just a thought, I have looked at their(Nikon) cheaper scopes and liked the optics, Would suggest look around a little for say one in 4-12, And as big an objective bell(50mm) you can afford, The 100yd target looks good at 12X.

We've had many discussions on these boards about the value of a good optics and it's worth paying more to get better quality.......
