Millett SP-1
Compact - Burris AR-P.E.P.R.
Mount
For an inexpensive optic I had no problems putting this
thing through the abuse of an active carbine course from Stone Cobra Tactical. I
was able to leave the sight on all day and put it through the paces. It was
banged around pretty well throughout the day and take shooting all day long. It
maintained zero all day long. I was able
to use it both eyes open and the 3 MOA dot was a good size for the 50 yard and
closer distances that we were using during the course.
The Burris mount was fantastic for this sight as well as
scopes for the AR. It puts the optic in just the right spot for height. The
Millett didn’t require eye relief so I was able to mount the sight about
halfway to the front sight. The mount is solid and stays in place.
The topic has been the same for a long time regarding
optics. A lot of people believe that you get what you pay for when it comes to
sights. I am one of those. If you are planning on just doing some courses here
and there or plinking out at the range, I don’t see anything wrong with the
optic. Me personally, I wouldn’t trust it to go to combat with. I just don’t
think that I could stop thinking about how “cheap” the optic was and I would
spend all of my time waiting for it to fail.
MagPul MBUS Front
and Rear
I am happy with the MagPul sights. They function well and
work as advertised. The sights have held zero through more than a 1000 rounds.
I’m not talking about shoot, sight, shoot, sight, shoot… I’m talking about
SHOOT, SHOOT, SHOOT, until the mag is empty, reload, and shoot again. For the
money you can’t beat these sights.
