I ordered it today, should arrive sometime Monday, possibly Friday but I won't hold my breath.
I will have to do a full review on it when installed and check out the durability as to what Burris e-mailed me......

This is what they sent me in reply to my inquiry..

That particular scope was specifically designed for AR-10 use. It will do fine on your firearm

Efrum,

I expect a full report on your findings. If it'll hold zero for 100 rounds, it should be good to go. Let me know how the clarity is too. Hell, full report! Thanks. If it's all that and a bag o chips, I may try it out myself as I want to move the scope on my AR10 to another rifle. This one could very well fill the void until I'm working again and get that ACOG I want for it.

I appreciate it.

I don't know Ethron, for a buck, buck-fitty more, I could have a really nice EoTech with all the trimmings. I thought it'd be a little cheaper than that.

I hear ya, for 2 bills more I could have bought a AimPoint comp 2, but one must go with what one has money for in this day and age.....and besides, this is all mama would let me spend.......you know how that is..

Oh I have gone cheap, the bushnell works, but on my AR-10 I don't know if I really could put my faith in it to withstand a combat situation, hypothetically of course....

I am still planning to get an AimPoint this spring maybe, but if this is as good as they said it is, it will do......and every thing I have read on Burris, well I guess we shall see.

I have to say, my curiosity is peaked, but if it is crap, well they will know about it......

and why I am at it, WHERE THE HELL IS IP, like MEM said he has a Burris scope.....need his two cents on this.......

I was also looking at one of those but I decided when I and if I do put an optic on my RR I am going to go EoTech. I am interested to see how it performs though, I have had great experiences with my Burris XTR.

I'll be waiting for that report Ethron. I'm curious to see how it performs on a .308 with continual firing. The link you posted looked like it was on an AR15, which we all know is a big leap's difference from an AR10. I'm not knocking it, but I KNOW that an EoTech or Aimpoint WILL withstand the recoil. When you get it, treat it like you stole it and see how it holds zero after a hundred or so rounds.

Oh I will put it through the paces, as THEY stated it was made for the AR-10. If it don't hold up, well there will be some reviews out there THEY WILL NOT LIKE.....maybe on Youtube also....Oh and "after a hundred or so rounds." are you sending me some for Christmas.....

. I will do what I can.....50 to 70 maybe....weather permitting, do some winter ops.

Oooo i cant wait to hear about this...for your sake and for mine i sure hope its worth it, this would make a nice cheap alternative to an aimpoint, which im not sure i want to spend the money for yet.

I usually get nervous when companys say waterproof. I like water resistant to a certain depth.Makes me think they actuallytested it. That said, Idon't usually spend alot of money on scopes/sights.My Eotech is my most expensive and the wife got it for me. I have Simmons, Weaver, Nc Star, andBurris scopes and I'm good........saved enough loot to buy another gun.

You know...Weaver optics used to be the shiznit back in the day! I know a guy with 35 y.o. Weaver on his rifle and hasn't touched it since mounting it and sighting in (rifle is a .30-06). That's a true testament to how solid they were. I don't know about now, but I think I read something recently about Weaver/Leupold teaming up...maybe Leupold bought Weaver out. If that be the case, you can bet that same quality they exhibited back then will return (if it ever left).

I've got to admit that Burris has come a long way in scopes. Like Mem said, I have a Fast Fire mounted as a "close up" optic on my (what I like to call) "battle rifle." I think the quality is there. They even have scopes now in the expensive range. I'm really wanting to try out one on a bolt action rifle.

Well I got it today......
I got to playing with it, seems nice and solid. Called Burris for some info on it, they where quite helpful in answering my questions on the specs....

Water depth......5 meters.....good enough for me...
Max cold temp....... 14, ok that is not so hot, for me given the time of year.
Max heat...... 122, that will work. I am not planning any trips to Death Valley.
The Impact rating is up to 700 Gs......equal to the recoil of a 375 Wetherby Magnum, so recoil should not be an issue.
The tech I talked with was the same one that replied to my e-mail inquiry, he said that it will work on either the AR-10 or AR-15 with no problems...

I am going to mount it probably tomorrow and start my new vids on it.....and hopefully will get the shooting test done sometime this week....

OH and Recoil....I have put together 100 rounds to shoot just for you.....
If all goes right I will be doing the following......
20 rounds of controlled firing....
60 to 70 rnds rapid fire.....
and the Last 10 to 20 will be a """"surprise""""

One last thing......MEM, I hear what you are saying....I would love to put a comp 2 or 3 on her, but it is a matter of money.....if this works, it will give those out there an alternative to the top notch, but be fully functional at a lesser cost.

cant wait for the test...i am kind of dissappointed in the minimum temp however...i mean i live in ohio so this time of year its almost under 14 degrees all the time. i dont shoot during winter to much anyway, but it seems if i get this i wont be at all.

Saber, hey I know what you mean.....but if I go, I usually use my scope anyway---Mark 2.
CA_LEO, sorry I did not respond earlier, thanks for the input. I think that they may be a little conservative on the temp, but we will see....Given what it is intended for, (Unless You Are Recoil Who Shoots Pop Cans At 500 Yards With Open Sights......LOL)

...Just kidding Bro.....I think for close range engagements it will work fine.....I am just hoping it holds up better than the other one......
In all actuality I have the first set of vids done, mainly an into and installation, will upload them to Youtube tonight.....might even go ahead and post them up here.....I am planning to do the shooting part in the morning.........I hope.!!!

OK, just got back from testing the Burris XTS-135. I have to say it performed great, did a few videos on it, unfortunately I had to leave the windows up on the truck, but you will be able to see and hear what is going on....
AND Recoil............YOU asked for 100 rounds, I gave you 110..

Will post them in the next day or so, have to upload them to Youtube....
