Mine is not a true M1A... but rather a "de-milled" Winchester M14 (no full auto)... but I think it's close enough for Government work.... :)

Some Specs: Factory military fiber glass stock, bedded. Factory trigger, tuned. Factory barrel and action. Mounted with a BDC 2.5x10 Weaver scope. Harris bipod.

Mine is a loaded model with national match barrel and sights. Scope is ATN 3x-9x tactical with illuminated reticle and ballistic cam for .308. Mount is a Bassett with a Harris bipod and Blackhawk cheek piece.

well here is myoddball green SCout SQuad with my oddball black GI sling my newest edition to my collection.After all the frustration with my AR and SAR-3I thought to my self you know if something really does go down I have nothing that is durable and reliable. so I bought this.My wife waswonderful enough to even pay the difference I didn't have.I had a grin on my face the whole drive home which was about a hour and a half from home.But that is a whole other story in itself.

I'm kinda wishing I had gone with the walnut stock.But the green is different I guess.It is all that was available at the time.I'm not too impressed with the sythetic stock.It seems to get damaged very easy.I wish I had the metal buttplate so I can put the cleaning kit in the buttstock.The holes are already there so I'm assuming it will bolt up.I noticed the socom has one from the factory.

I was looking at Socoms when I bought the scout squad.I decided not to because of the modified gas system and I wasn't sure about the range with the short barrel.I just felt that the Scout was a good balance between the full 22" and the socom.I do like the apperance of the Socoms though.But those match grades make the 22" very tempting.

Any of the M1A guys used any of these W mags from Cheaper Than Dirt?They are supposed to be Winchesters.I got some today.If they are not true mil-spec they are very very good knock offs.

I got one C.M.I. from Brownells works good just a little tight.44mag.com has some too.These W mags are junk.I had to put them in a vice and squeeze the back of the mag a little tighter so they would fit in the magwell but now the slight bulge in the back of the mag keeps it from latching right.I've gotta call CTD monday to see if I can exchange them or get a refund.After Istraighten them back out.The sad thing is the cheap pro-mag fits better than myC.M.i. andmy W mags.

Shes waiting to go into a JAE stock asap. I dont shoot it often, the accuracy can be enhanced with some mods for sure, but I had to have it anyway. Its not terribly inaccurate, almost 2moa w match ammo. Hangn w some of the posse, no pics by itself. Now the Remmy .308 to the left is a tack driver(SPS).

My SOCOM 16 story

I was all set to buy an AR-10,when the seller backed out.Soon after,I talked about this with a friend at a local Gander Mtn.,stating it was OK because what I REALLY wanted in a 7.62 was a SOCOM-16. He said you're not gonna believe this,but we got one in that hasn't even been processed yet. I begged him to show it to me,and he did.With a manager's permission,I then put it on layaway,even though it had no stock number yet!!

I've only fired 10 shots through it so far,but I think I'm in LOVE!!! BTW..it's the original SOCOM 16 with only one rail on the top,way forward of the bolt.I prefer this,as I wanted to keep this rifle simple,so the extra rails of the SOCOM II would have only been there to make the rifle ugly.
