I love airsoft as it gives me target time without having to go to the range. I brought an airsoft pistol with me on this trip to Afghanistan just for that reason. As an officer I tend to get stuck in the office too much and don't get to go out and don't get to spend nearly as much time at the range as I'd like to.

I've had some funny looks when I pull out my Beretta clone pistol and set up the target across the office, but most come around and think it's a great idea, especially after I let them shoot a clip or two.

Nice photo...in Modern Warfare....I love the part were you get to play on the plane.....the 40 mm was the cat's ass...

Actually I'm a ground pounder type. I just got a chance to do a photo op next to one of these. But we like having them around as they take care of business very well. The bad guys don't like them around because they take care of business very well (and they can't find them to shoot back)

OH YEAH.....

You will probably hear alot of

about Air soft...but under the circumstance maybe not.....

I do know a few LE and military guys that do the AS thing...and they get a lot of crap for it, but as they say,,,,you can't shoot your friends with live ammo and not go to prison or keep friends very long......LOL

I don't think anyone here as any actual problems with airsoft at all. I know I don't. Hell, I know some guys that have more money into their soft ARs than I do in my Stags.

Major sir, I'm glad you're hear. Maybe you'll be able to answer some of the questions I've had. We haven't had too many people posting in this forum at all. Me and some buddies want to start killing each other with paint ball as well, you know anything about paint ball?

I'm not real familiar with paintballs. I do know you can get paintballs for airsoft. The wife has some to use on the kids. I haven't yet gotten into the airsoft battling either, although when I get home from here it might be something I'll take up with my boys. I do need to get me a good rifle for that as my brother gave my two oldest an M4 Airsoft rifle each for Christmas.

As I stated above, I have a Beretta pistol that I use for practice here. With the rules in place I probably won't be able take it back home so someone else will get it when I leave. But for $30 bucks I'm not all that worried about it, I'll just get me another one. It has served its purpose very well so far. I can sit at my desk and shoot a hundred rounds of practice a day if I want. If you get the bio-degradable bbs then you can even get away with shooting it outside without worring about leaving some behind (probably a good sell for where you're from IP).

There are a lot of Airsofters here in California. To be honest, I'm surprised that it's still legal. When Daisy cam out with soft air guns back in the late 80s California was the first to ban them due to how real they looked.

Anyway, my neighbor has some airsoft guns and he gets in battles with this kids all the time. He doesn't do it beyond that but they were talking about moving it up a level to paint ball guns and asked me to join. We were talking about going down and getting one of those all in one kits or something. Anyway, it all sounds like fun.

A deputy friend of mine suggested that we do force on force training with level III kevlar vest and use 22s. He said the only rule would have to be "no head shots." He was joking though.
