If you are a Sig fan at all, and you can't palm a basket ball, you owe it to yourself to check out Sig's new E2 pistols. They make a P226 or a P229 in any of the standard calibers but with a re-designed grip frame and the short trigger. I handled one the other day and all I can say is WOW! I hope they come out with an E2 P220/.45 ACP! Even of they don't, I am considering picking up an E2 P229 to add to the collection, since I don't own a .40 Sig.

This is probably one of the best updates Sig could have come out with for these pistols. Their grip diameter and trigger reach have always been a issue for those of use out there with small hands. The improved trigger finger position also helps manage trigger control, so that the E2's trigger pull seems smoother and lighter... (I didn't have a guage with me, but I have a pretty good ability to estimate trigger pull and this one seemed about a pound or two lighter than the normal factory pull.)

I recently read the write-up on this in one of the gun rags I receive. It was either "Guns" or "Handguns", I can't remember which, but the writer gave these weapons a very enthusiastic review.

I intend to check one out myself, Tac. As we've talked about before, I am a huge Sig fan, and I love my P229 in .40 S&W with the 'short reach' trigger, but mine was an add-on. It 'fits' my hand perfectly with the short reach trigger, and I always shoot well with it.

This is the one handgun I fully intend to take to the Philippines with me when I retire. This is clearly, and without a doubt, the very best, most reliable handgun I have ever owned. Now, a little bit pricey.......... yeah, but as I've said before, what is your life worth? This handgun is worth every penny of its cost.

Recoil, the M11 is Sig's model P228 in 9mm. The P229 is almost identical, except that it is built to take the .40 cal and .357 Sig round. The P229 is made in 9mm as well. If you liked the M11, you will LOVE the P229 e2. The nice thing about the P229 (over the P228) is that if you buy it in one caliber, you can buy the barrels and switch it to the others with just a barrel swap. (I think the 40/357 sig to 9mm swap would require a recoil spring and mag change, or at the very least a recoil spring to covert.)
