Oh SNAP! That's what I'm talking about. He didn't pick up a quarter of what he shot in that video. Thanks for posting!
I've shota few hundred here in my yard since Dec. 2007, but the word's out now and when they see movement near the house, they scatter like cockroaches with the lights on. In the early days of shooting them, before they got skiddish, I could get 15-20 in a single sitting. Now, since I've thinned them out so much coupled with the fact they know the kill zone, I may shoot 4-5 a week. That's good though. I really don't like shooting them, especially since I don't eat them, but every time I see a spot on my house where they chewed, it re-kindles my desire to war on them.
There is NO substitute for the .17 HMR when it comes to rodents/small predators within a 125 yard perimeter. I simply cannot describe how accurate, fast and lethal it is to someone who doesn't own one.
I shot this little pig a couple weeks ago down by the creek. I waited to see if his momma would appear, but she didn't. I got him with the .17. It wasn't a clean shot either...he was running and I shot him square in the booty hole. He didn't go far, maybe 15 - 20 yards and piled up in some leaves. I tossed him onto the creek bank and snapped this pic.
