Took some kids out today for their first experience at pheasant hunting. Both boys ended up shooting their first birds today. They even managed to knock down a few more between them. All in all super day. We put lead in 15 birds and found all 15. Dogs earned their alpo today.
Hobie,
You are to be commended for what you do. Exposing or youth to shooting/hunting is what it's all about man. Now get them out there after them coyotes and they'll be hooked for life.
Thanks for the kind words gentlemen. I really did not do much to further thier interest in the outdoors. They come from pretty good stock. Both those youngsters have arrowed deer bigger than anything I have ever even dreamt about shooting. They could both probably teach me a little about coyote hunting. They are lucky enough to have an uncle that has some real fine scent dogs. The one that deservesthe credit would be their dad. He drove them up here from 5 hours away to experience something he got to do as a youngster and his boys had not yet got to do. I think they are somelucky boys. Plus, there is nothing better than seeing a kid shoot his first bird.
