Anyone seen an XDm in .45 yet? I have looked all over locally and can't locate one yet... which is probably a good thing because I really don't need to spend money on another handgun right now... (but I would if I could find one!)

I have an XDm in .40 and really like it. I also have a regular .45 XD "Tactical" (5 inch/two tone) and as far as double stack .45's go, that one is my favorite, it's just a bit big to carry.

If you have located one and had the opportunity to get your mitts on it, your thoughts would be appreciated.

I myself have not seen an XDm in .45. I have seen one in .40 cal and they are pretty sweet.

I am at a point in life now where I just am not going to carry anything too big or heavy anymore. That H&K USP Expert in .40 cal the department issued me was a very sweet shooting weapon, but it about tore my right hip and lower back up lugging it around all day long. Plus, it's just too much barrel to have to clear a holster in an "oh no" situation. I love the H&K USP Compact they issued to me after I asked for the change. And I still love my Sig P229 in .40 too. Smaller & lighter has just gotten better for me at this point in my life.

Nothing wrong with those Springfield's though. They've always been producing outstanding firearms for the military and law enforcement.

yeah i got to handle one at a local gun shop a couple weeks ago. it's a nice piece.... same 13+1 Mags as the regular xd 45 i believe ...not like its a bad thing because i dont think you could fit anymore realistically. it pretty much feels just like i thought it would. i also have an xdm 40 and its my go to pistol for the most part these days and i did think about picking up the new 45 but i still prefer 45's with 5 inch barrels so i'm a little torn at the moment between the old xd 45 and the xdm. but i have to admit the xdm's do look pretty slick.

i was at gander mountain about 2 weeks ago and they had 1 on the shelf and the guy said they had more in back. i definately violated that thing lol i think the sales man was getting sick of standing there and watching me. i miss my old xd .45 so much it felt so good to get it in my hands.

Thanks for the response guys.. Now at least I know they are not a Unicorn (a fable... an animal that does not exist in nature) and that I might get my mitts on one...

I also like the idea of it using the same mags as my current XD .45... one less thing to worry about or spend money on...

I found several at our local Cabelas, they have a stainless bi tone and the regular black one, and the black on green, they seem way over priced though.

I found a standard black XDm .45 yesterday and got to finger fu...fondle it... I LIKE IT! I was very happy to see how it fit my hand and how it pointed for me. It was like that front sight was attached the end of my index finger. The wanted $599 for the one I found, which isn't out of the ordinary for a standard XDm in these parts... So I guess I am going to have to start saving my pennies and banking some of my overtime....

I was at a local gun show yesterday in VA and saw my first XDm in 45. Very impressed to say the least.

The prices at this show seemed very high. I only walked out with some SMK 175 .30 cal booolits. I did meet Jim Keefer of custom accurate 1911 legend though. Nice guy. I didn't even know it was him for the first 5 minutes of conversation.
