Well guys and gals, with all this talk of SHTF and surviving whatever I've educated myself. We've been working on numerous projects to attain a level of self sufficiency. A recent project of my Son and I is a Hydraulic Ram pump. With this we will be able to pump water from our creek into a holding tank. With that water we will be able to irrigate our garden, fruit trees and yard. Check it out here...

I believe we spent around $100 in fittings from Lowe's and about 30 minutes assembling it. It worked like a champ first attempt.
Man, I just googled the operation...really cool. I need to do something like this to the creek behind my house. Could be used to pump water to my animals, water grass, and if need be, SHTF.
This is a good idea, just be aware that more and more locations are limiting access to waters. There are even some locations that say you can't even collect rain water as it belongs to the state. Yes this is here in the US (Colorado).
