1911.COM recommendation and general guidelines for posting content (www.1911.com ONLY)

We do not engage in far flung conspiracy discussions. We may elect to automatically remove links to sites that support these conspiracy theories, and any user that continues to violates this rule.
In almost all cases, please refrain from posting any content you recieve from chain mails. Most have little factual basis and do not contribute whatsoever to our site.
Please research the factuality of any alarmist emails you receive before posting new threads about them. Most have little, if no factual basis and you will likely receive a lot of negative contribution if posted, as well as annoy our moderation resources.
Refrain from excessive language abuse. It is not verboten, but not encouraged. Extreme excess will not be tolerated.

Forum Notes:

1911.COM uses a revolutionary contribution system to reflect the time and energy invested by its users.
Contribution is based on User to User reviews of individual posts. Your contribution bar is based on a weighted score of all the other posting members, so that the score is irrelevant, your contribution bar just reflects your status as compared to all other posting members.
The (N) icon next to the contribution bar represents a "new" user, which is a user that registered within the past two months. New users are only weighted against other new users. The left 20% reflects weighted negative contribution and the right 80% reflects weighted positive contribution.
A copper star next to the contribution bar represents a top contributor. These are the top 10% of our posting users. At this stage, the contribution bar no longer reflects any negative contribution the user may have received and is weighted only against the other top 10% of users, reflected in the last half of the bar.
All other users will have no icon, and their contribution will be weighted against the rest of our users (the majority). The left 30% reflects weighted negative contribution and the right 70% reflects weighted positive.
1911.COM includes some automatic moderation features.
If you see the soft lock icon, and you cannot post more replies in a thread, the site probably automatically "soft locked" you after it detected you were receiving an excess of negative contribution.
The primary reason the site does this is so that we may ensure fair moderation, foster an encouraging, multiple-viewpoint atmosphere while allowing controversial discussions, making sure that only users can discuss it civilly can continue doing so. Generally, it is a good idea to review and take note of why you may have earned negative contribution in that thread and avoid those actions in the future.
